Blackstone Library Welcomes New Young Adult Librarian

by Tressy N. Collier

The Blackstone Library staff is excited to welcome Mandi Whipple, their new Young Adult Librarian. Mandi, 38, may be a familiar face to some in the Blackstone community: her husband, Charlie, has managed the Subway restaurant in Blackstone since 2012. Mandi can often be found working alongside him, but thought the time was right to add to her resumé.
“I’m looking forward to doing activities with the teens once we’re able,” she said. “I’m so excited!” Mandi had no problem jumping immediately into the position and began putting together a summer reading program for young adults within the first week.
Mandi has two teenage sons and one stepson. In addition to working at the library and at Subway, Mandi helps out with the billing for her parents’ trash disposal company. She enjoys geocaching and volunteers with the Woonsocket Boy Scouts. Her favorite authors include Liane Moriarty and Lauren Oliver, and she owns a (boy) cat named Charlotte.
