“Plant a Seed, Read” Statewide Summer Reading Program is sponsored by the Blackstone Cultural Council, the Friends of the Blackstone Public Library and the library’s LIG/MEG account, as authorized by the Board of Library Trustees.

YA Summer 2026! at the Blackstone Public Library. Open to students entering 5th-12th grade! Registration begins on June 8, 2026. Keep track of how many pages you have read on your log! Bring your reading log to the circulation desk each week to be checked by a staff member and receive a prize. You must check in at least 3 times to be eligible for end-of-summer prizes and the finale. You may check in once per week. Dates are listed below. Check-ins begin on June 29. Week 1: June 29; Week 2: July 6; Week 3: July 13; Week 4: July 20; Week 5: July 27; Week 6: August 3. 2026 Young Adult Summer Reading Schedule. June 8 - Registration begins! June 29 at 6 PM - Terrific Terrariums. July 2 at 6 PM - Taste Test - Root Beer Edition. July 6 at 6 PM - Painted Vinyl Record Clocks. July 16 at 6 PM - Painted Skulls. July 20 at 6 PM - Slime and Snacks. July 28 at 6 PM - Owl Pellets. July 30 at 3 PM - World of Owls. August 3 at 6 PM - Buildwave. August 4 at 3:30 PM - Copper Pendants. August 11 at 6 PM - Finale! Ice Cream and Board Games. August 17 at 5:30 PM - Didgeridoo Down Under.

Registration is required for all programs.

You must be registered for the Summer Reading Program to participate in individual programs.
