Paint Night with Angela, an art event for adults. There are TWO dates for this program! Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 6:00 PM; and Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at 6:00 PM. Don’t miss the chance to include this welcoming winter scene into your home décor. Join us for this painting class for adults! Blackstone residents can sign up starting Monday, December 16. All others can sign up starting Monday, December 23. Registration is required. Call or come in to register. Each date is limited to 20 patrons, and patrons may only sign up for one night. Call the Blackstone Public Library at 508-883-1931 to sign up or for more information. This event is funded by a generous donation from the Library Gift Account as authorized by the Board of Library Trustees. Flyer includes a photo of the painting that patrons will be taught to paint. The Kenn Morr Band “Still Shining,” a musical event for adults. Tuesday, January 7, 6:30 PM. Join us at the library to welcome back these great musicians! The Kenn Morr Band is returning to the Blackstone Public Library as part of their tour in support of their new album, “Still Shining.” “Recorded at Sandy Brook Studios in Colebrook, CT, the album features eleven new songs penned by Morr highlighted by the cohesive playing of the Kenn Morr Band. The result is an organic collection of lush three-part vocal harmonies and sparkling instruments—real musicians playing soulful music in real time.” – kennmorr.com This fantastic original Alternative Folk Rock band from northwest Connecticut features singer/songwriter Kenn Morr, violin virtuoso and multi-instrumentalist Tom Hagymasi, Berkely College of Music grad Pat Ryan on bass, and drummer Tido Holtkamp. Known for its close three-part vocal harmonies and fiery instrumental interplay, the group has been together for many years, becoming fast favorites on the outdoor festival scene. Vintage Family History Scrapbooking Class #4 This program is intended for adults. Thursday, January 2, 6:30 PM This program is part of the Blackstone Public Library’s ongoing LSTA grant, “Voices: A Common Thread.” Vintage Family History Scrapbooking. Please join Library Staff Members for a fourth evening of scrapbooking. Supplies will be provided. We ask that you bring the following: 4 photographs to use in the scrapbook; information about the person/people in the photos (ex. name, age, location, etc.) ; a small blurb about the person (a few sentences). It could be of a particular achievement, historical information, or a fun, family anecdote/memory; your enthusiasm. Registration is required. Call the Blackstone Public Library at 508-883-1931. “Vintage Family History Scrapbooking Class” is supported by grant funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the federal Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. Experienced Photographers Needed

 The library will be offering a monthly photography club beginning in January 2025. The club will meet for 8 weeks. There will be a photography exhibit and reception after the 8-week session.
 

We are looking for experienced photographers to share their knowledge.
We are hoping to get one guest speaker for each monthly meeting. There will be a small honorarium of $50 (funded by the Friends of the Blackstone Public Library) for each speaker.
